Filmed on location in the Greater Los Angeles cities of Glendale, Grenada Hills, Hawthorne, Highland Park, Pasadena, Sun Valley, Sylmar, Van Nuys, Venice and West Hollywood, Little Athens shot for 26 days spanning a period of five weeks, wrapping principal photography in June 2004, and completing post-production in September 2005.


Little Athens was filmed on Kodak film stock in a Super-35mm (i.e.: 2.35 to 1) aspect ratio.  Approximately the first two thirds of the Little Athens, along with the final shot of the movie, was shot on secure camera mounts on 35mm film through Panavision cameras and MKII lenses.  Approximately the last third of Little Athens, except for the final shot of the movie, was shot handheld on Super-16mm film through Arriflex cameras and Zeiss lenses.
